Mentorship Program
The BETTA-U Mentorship Program launched in 2025 is designed for students (ages 9–11) who need extra support to thrive academically and socially. The program, being piloted at the St. Jude’s Primary School, offers:
✔ One-on-one mentorship with trained adult role models
✔ Psychoeducational & psychosocial assessments
✔ Digital literacy tools and learning apps
✔ Targeted tutoring to close learning gaps
This wholistic program aims to – :
- Build confidence, social skills & emotional resilience
- Teach problem-solving, study habits & conflict resolution
- Identify individual learning needs through assessments
- Strengthen reading, vocabulary & academic performance
Our mentors are carefully selected, trained and matched with each child, based on needs and interests. Mentors receive a Mentorship Manual which provides a curriculum for mentor-mentee engagement, including themes, objectives, suggested activities and learning goals for the sessions along with tools and techniques foreffective engagement.
Family involvement is key, so parents are engaged through orientation sessions, ongoing communication, and feedback opportunities. A complementary BETTA-U Parenting Program is being developed to support caregivers in fostering positive, nurturing home environments for their children.
The program runs for 16 months for each cohort
and encompasses:
- Monthly one-on-one mentorship sessions (mentor/mentee)
- Quarterly link ups with mentors and mentees (life skills sessions)
- Regular best practice feedback sessions with mentors
- A Program close out graduation ceremony
The program continues to evolve through expert input and real-world experience, always with the aim of helping children grow, thrive, and transform their futures.
