On April 5, 2025, the grounds of St. Jude’s Primary School came alive with purpose, care, and community spirit for the Second Annual Community Health Fair hosted through a powerful partnership between the 180 Degree Foundation, the UWI Faculty of Medical Sciences Interprofessional Outreach Committee, and St. Jude’s Primary School which offered a day of free healthcare and support to nearly 180 grateful attendees.

With a team of over 60 medical professionals and 30+ volunteers, the fair delivered a full range of services — all at no cost. Attendees received general health checks, dental care, optical screenings, and physical therapy. Even better, prescriptions were filled on-site and free of charge, removing a major barrier to access for many.

But the fair went beyond physical wellness. Volunteers from the Transformed Life Church provided spiritual and emotional support, offering prayers and a compassionate presence to anyone who needed a listening ear. It was a powerful reminder that true health is more than just physical.

The event welcomed students, parents, and teachers from St. Jude’s, as well as residents from Waltham Gardens, Molynes Gardens, and nearby communities — all coming together for a shared cause.

One community member summed up the sentiment perfectly: “It’s amazing that these doctors took time out of their busy schedules to help us. Most of us couldn’t afford these services otherwise.”

Principal Miss Susanna Ainsworth celebrated the fair’s success, especially as it coincided with the school’s anniversary month. “This event is a testament to what we can achieve through unity and commitment to the well-being of our community,” she shared.

The continued success of the health fair highlights the power of partnership and the commitment to improving access to healthcare for all.
